Conny Tournament Recap
by posted 05/22/2022

Good day Ticks Family,

As I reflected on todays games on my way home, I am reminded of how much HEART this team plays with. We were competitive on aspects of the game, attacker, mid field and defense. Eventhough we came up short, we were one clean pass, one less post hit, and one less missed short of winning most of our games today. To me, that is a win!

The Defense, led by Quinn Belloni, Sam Valle and Nolan McEvily did an amazing job of protecting the house, playing strong man on ball, fighting hard on ground balls and were excellent at clearing. The Middy's, leb by Grayson Canaan, Jackson Beckner, Jackson Basham and Finn Celic, Galvin Bell and Eli Gallagher were all fantastic today, lots of hustle, lots of defensive support and great ball movement in the attacker end. The Attackers, led by Chase Perry, Joe McAndrew and Chris Antonino were excellent at getting to the open space, moving the ball, and great job working the mid field line. I am even going to throw a shout out to the Goal Keepers, Matteo Rago and Charlie Barter. They were outstanding today, made some HUGE saves, one that caught Matteo right in the midsection...thank god for cups! They demonstrated good hustled to missed shots and were clearing the ball with ease. All in all, I am very proud of how these kids played today.

We had three stars of the games and one player of the tournament. Defensive star went to Sam Valle, he was relentless on defense today. demonstrated good body contact, great job on ground balls and clearing up field. Attacker star of the game went to Matteo Rago, He started off in net then made the move to attacker, there he demonstratged getting to the open area and made some great passes to the open player and made an excellent shot for a goal. Middy star goes to Grayson Canaan, He was excellent on defense and moving to support the ball and catching passes clean then attacking the net. Today's Player of Tournament goes to....drum roll...Chase Perry! He demonstrated all the above. He was great man on man ball on defense, great job moving to open space and making clean passes. He never stopped hustling. My favorite quote from him today. As he just came off the field after a long shift, I asked him to get ready because we had a couple tired players out there and he says to me "Coach, I cant go out there yet. I think I have sweated all the water out me and my legs dont want to work" After a couple big gulps of water, he got back on the field.

Parents stars of the Tournament go to...another drum roll...The EPPP (Event Parent Party Planners) Kara Bell and Rachel Beckner along with Jill Valle for making sure the kids had great snacks and refreshments today. Outstanding job!!!

A special shout out to my team of coaches! Thanks for all the hard work, game planning and keeping me in the channel!!!

Great Job to day Team!

Thank you parents for the awesome support!

Game Recap vs East Lyme
by posted 05/15/2022

Good day Ticks Family,

Today, we played an outstanding game! This time we started strong and progressively got better as the game progressed. We continued to work on trying to make good clean passes. We demonstrated good ball movement, excellent communication, and positive attitudes. Some highlights include the team’s ability to make great quick passes, then taking it to the net for higher percentage shots. We did a good job of trying new skills, like passing on their weak sides.

We had three stars of the game and the whole team was voted as the player's of the game. Defensive star went to Nolan McEvily, he rebounded from yesterday to have a great game today. He play defense well and did a good job of clearing up field. Attacker star of the game went to Finn Celic, He did a great job of find the open area and made some great passes to the open player. Middy star goes to three people today, they were outstanding, Eli Gallagher, Grayson Cannan and Jackson Basham They were excellent at passing and moving to open space then attacking the net. Great job moving the ball. Honorable mention today goes to Matteo Rago, He has done a great job filling in for as our goalie. Today, he made some key saves and hustled to goaline for Ticks possessions.

Great Job to day Team!
